Monte Carlo Las Vegas Hotel 32 to open soon

Hotel 32 Monte Carlo's Newest addition to the Las Vegas hotel market will open August 10, 2009. This boutique property is located on the top floor of the Monte Carlo Hotel Casino and promises to give every customer the Vip experience. The special treatment starts with a limo ride from the airport. When guests arrive through a grande porte cochere, a suite assistant will be waiting to escort them to the top floor hotel via a private express elevator, accessible by key card only.

Guests will then proceed directly to their rooms, where a suite assistant will discuss the features, amenities and services. Hotel32 features five floor plans. All guests will have exclusive access to a dedicated suite assistant, who will provide butler and concierge services, including a signature turndown gift and a pre-stocked refrigerator based on guests' preferences.

Each suite will feature hydrotherapy soaking tubs. A shower features overhead panels that produce a gentle rainfall throughout the enclosure. Chromatherapy, the use of colored lights for relaxation, will be another highlight in many of the suites. Several suites will have a Crestron remote system, which offers one-stop control of the drapes, lights and electronics. Other amenities include a Blu-ray DVD player and a TV integrated into the bathroom mirror; high-definition, flat-screen plasma TVs; use of an iPod Touch with mobile concierge application; and iHome clock radio with an iPod docking station.

The Crowne Plaza in Nyc Times Square has just completed its $85 million dollar rennovation and is a gem not to be missed. The hotel, which first opened in 1990 completed its rennovation in Decemember, redesigning the hotel's 770 rooms, lobby space and almost 25,000 square feet of meeting space.

When travelers who have never been to Rio de Janeiro think of the city, they think of Carnival and New Years, of the nightlife and beaches. Fair enough, as these are the iconic snapshots of the old city. But Rio is so much more. Visitors will also remember the site of Sugarloaf Mountain with the statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado Mountain and the array of colonial churches and buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries. But no one aspect of Rio can lay claim to the city’s heritage. It is the beaches, the architecture, the music and culture, Sugarloaf and Tijuca Forest in combination that makes the experience that travelers know as Rio de Janeiro.
The city of Rio de Janeiro is made up of 150 districts. Rio is an exciting city with iconic architecture and monuments.
The statue of Christ the Redeemer rests on Corcovado Mountain at 2,330 feet above sea level.
Sugar Loaf, the famous peak rising 1,300 feet above sea level (see the picture to the left) is accessible by a cable car ride.
Ipanema Beach, made famous by the song, is the center of Rio’s beach and night - life.
The “hippy fair” at General Osorio Square is a much visited site for mingling and people watching on Sundays where local arts and crafts may be purchased.
Brazil loves its soccer. The Estadio de Maracana is the largest soccer stadium in South America, seating 95,000.
Tijuca Forest is located adjacent to Rio de Janeiro and at nearly 8,000 acres is the largest urban forest in the world.
With over 5000 miles of coastline, Brazil’s beaches are world class. Some are highly developed while others are nearly deserted stretches of beach and ocean.
Until 1960, Rio was the capital of Brazil – when Brasilia, the current capital, was designated the capital.
Rio’s Carnival is the most famous in the world. Months of preparation and planning go into the event and more than 300,000 travelers pack the city each February to participate.
Rio’s Samba Schools, are highly competitive and have their own fan clubs. Carnival, apart provides an annual competition between the schools. All aspects of each school’s performance comes under the judges’ scrutiny: the theme song, the drum band, dancers, and standard-bearer.
But Carnival is not the only celebration on Rio’s calendar. New Year’s Eve in Rio is a spectacular event celebrated all along the city’s beaches when more than 2.5 million people gather along the streets wearing white clothing and uncorking champagne bottles by the light of a brilliant fireworks display.

It is not at all surprising that a nation founded by explorers, malcontents, protest(ants) and warriors is today a nation of individualists. E Pluribus Unum is the fitting motto of the United States: “From Many One.” As wave after wave of immigrant arrived in America, the assimilation of so many peoples, both free and slave, has been uneven and incomplete. No other nation in the world has had to contend with such a mixed population, a crucible not only of cultures, but of ideas and ideals. With the recent election of its first African American president, the United States of America demonstrated the actuality inherent in its potential, that a nation of equals can arise out of the rich and complex blend of peoples that have found their way to its shores.
Any visitor to the United States is struck by its diversity more than its unity. North and South, East and West, rural and urban cultures in the United States are enormously divergent.

For five centuries immigrants have brought their respective cultures to the United States, often settling together in regions of the country. The communities they built, the schools they founded, the newspapers they published and read, the churches they attended all gave character to their distinct geographical area.

The stereotypes of these regions hold an interesting mixture of exaggeration and truth, from the “Deep South” to “New England” to the “West Coast“. The rich fabric of the United States tapestry of culture has given rise to both creative and destructive energies, the likes of which the world has never seen. No longer fixed by an isolated geography, United States culture permeates every corner of the globe for both better and worse.

Few destinations offer as great a variety of natural wonders and man-made structures. From the redwood forests of California, to the Grand Canyon, the spires of Bryce Canyon, the Rocky Mountains, the Great Smokey Mountains or the coasts of Maine and Florida, there is nearly no end to the natural beauty of the United States.

The United States is comprised of 3.79 million square miles making it the fourth largest country by land area. It is also the largest economy in the world. California, a state, is the 6th largest economy in the world.

The original 13 colonies on the eastern seaboard grew mostly by acquisition of land from England, France, Spain and Mexico.

The rich natural resources of the United States coupled with the free enterprise system have fueled its expansion into world dominance. In addition, the interior of the country is highly navigatable as a result of the extensive interstate highway system, the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River basin.

Alaska is the largest state at 365 million acres and Rhode Island is the smallest at 1,545 square miles, about the same amound of territory burned in the recent California brush fires.

River Palms Hotel and Casino Review

Just got back from a wonderful weekend getaway in Laughlin, Nevada. I love going to Laughlin and it still has that old Las Vegas feel to it. Take a stroll on the riverwalk along the Colorado River. We stayed at the River Palms and the Casino and the restaurants are very clean and nice and you can still get a good deal on meals. On check-in we must of had the worst front desk agent around and I am sure many of you out there can realate. He had no personality, was very quick in checking us in, but just went through the motions. We arrived on a Saturday so it was very busy, in fact , it was sold out. The room we received was on the 4th floor all the way at the end of the corridor near the emergency exit door, the room though very clean was very old and unimpressive, including the grand window view of a wall. We had a great time at the pool on sunday and we had many great meals at the Tropicana Express (their sister property), and the River Palms did have a great deal on breakfast (only $2.99 unitl 11am). If you want a good clean place to stay on a budget I would say give it a try, but if you are looking for a little bit more than I would say Harrah's Laughlin, The Aquarius, Colorado Belle, The Edgewater or Tropicana Express would be a much better fit.
